The Surgery opened on 1st January 1997. It had been felt for some time that there was a need for an additional Doctor’s Surgery in the area. It was therefore agreed, as a joint initiative between the Health Authority and the Barking, Havering and Brentwood Community Trust, that part of the Highwood Hospital site be refurbished as a new Surgery.
It was with great interest and support from the Community and other Practices in Brentwood that this Practice opened in 1997. We occupied part of the old “Administration Building” until October 2009 and when that building was sold for redevelopment, we relocated to our present building which, again, was refurbished to our specification. The result is a bright, very well-designed, welcoming Surgery with large consulting rooms and fully-equipped treatment room. We have a pleasant waiting room, stocked with plenty of books and toys/equipment for children.
Our Surgery is completely accessible for everyone, including disabled patients, and all the rooms, including the toilets which are suitable for disabled patients, are situated on the ground floor.
There is a large car park located to the left of the Surgery and other parking areas all over the site, clearly signposted.
The Highwood Surgery is well-established in Brentwood and aims to offer a high standard of quality, personal medical care to all our patients. We are happy to accept onto our List anyone who moves into this part of Brentwood, particularly the Pilgrims Hatch area.
